Official Terms and Conditions

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.

 

1. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, contestants should either call EF Educational Tours at 1-800-637-8222, EF Explore America at 1-800-503-2323 or EF College Study Tours at 1-800-873-2250 and express interest in the contest, visit eftours.com, efexploreamerica.com or efcollegestudytours.com or send in a postage-paid business reply card entry form. Contestants may not enter more than once. Required information includes the contestant’s name, address and telephone. EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America and EF College Study Tours can be contacted at Two Education Circle, Cambridge, MA 02141. One entry per person.

 

2. ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to full and part-time teachers, faculty or administrators at the middle school, junior high school, senior high school or college level living in the United States. Employees (and their immediate families and household members) of EF and its affiliates are not eligible.

 

3. GRAND PRIZE: The prizes (a total of one prize will be awarded) will include a trip for one group leader (at least 21 years of age) and his or her students at their school. The prize includes a free trip for the Group Leader and a $20,000 scholarship fund to be applied to an EF Educational Tour, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours program. The prize may be given to ether the Group Leader or the Group Leader’s school and can be allocated among the traveling students at the discretion of the Group Leader leading the tour. The scholarship prize can be applied to all program, membership and departure fees. The scholarship prize cannot be applied to any optional excursions fees, insurance fees, money for gratuities or discretionary on-tour expenses. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted. The prize is nontransferable.

 

4. GRAND PRIZE DRAW: The winner will be selected by random drawing in January 2020. Participants agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges, whose decisions on all aspects of this drawing are final. The winner will be notified by the January 15, 2020. All eligible entries will remain in the contest for the six-month duration. The winner does not need to be present to win. EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours will notify the winner by phone, email or mail. EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America, EF College Study Tours, its affiliates agents and others working for them or on their behalf, will have the right to photograph the winners and entry constitutes permission to use their names, pictures, likenesses, school’s name and city and state of residence(s) in advertising for no additional compensation.

 

5. Starting dates and ending dates for receiving entries are July 10, 2019 and December 31, 2019, respectively.

 

6. Tour and travel dates are subject to availability. All travel must be completed by September 30, 2021.

 

7. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.

 

8. DECLARING THE WINNER: Prize must be claimed by January 31, 2020. Failure to execute and return any requested document(s) within 14 days of receipt, return of notification or prize as undeliverable, or declining the price may result in forfeiture of prize and an alternate potential winner being selected at the sole discretion of EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours management. Failure to execute EF’s Release and Agreement, Booking Conditions and any other required travel documents prior to travel will results in forfeiture of the prize. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY WINNER WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CAMPAIGN, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

 

9. EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America and EF College Study Tours make no warranties with respect to the prize.

 

10. The sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. All taxes on prizes are solely the responsibility of the winners. To learn the name of the winner, contact EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours after January 31, 2020. EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America and EF College Study Tours are not responsible for any lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for a cash equivalent. The sweepstakes is eligible to residents of the United States and Puerto Rico only.

 

11. By entering, you understand and agree that EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours and their affiliates shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Campaign, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent.

 

12. Sponsor: For tour outside of the United States of America, the sponsor is EF Institute for Cultural Exchange, Inc. and produced outside of the U.S. by EF Education First International, Ltd., Switzerland. For tours inside of the United States of America, the sponsor is EF Explore America, Inc.

 

13. Privacy Policy: Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours websites. 14. Limitation of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless EF Educational Tours, EF Explore America or EF College Study Tours and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the sweepstakes; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the sweepstakes or the processing of entries.

 

Disputes: This Campaign is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without respect for the conflict of laws doctrine. As a condition of participating in this Campaign, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Campaign, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Massachusetts having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Campaign). Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
