Review Standard Booking Conditions: What happens if EF has to cancel or modify a tour?
The following excerpt has been taken from EF Educational Tours’ Booking Conditions for the 2019-2020 Travel Year.
General Terms and Conditions > Miscellaneous > What happens if EF has to cancel or modify a tour?
“EF retains the right to cancel, modify, or delay the tour as a result of unforeseeable events that are beyond EF’s reasonable control, including but not limited to, acts of God, war (whether declared or undeclared), terrorist activities or threats of terrorists activities, instability in a destination country, incidents of violence, public health issues or quarantine or threats of public health issues, substantial currency fluctuations, strikes, government restrictions, fire or severe weather conditions, or any other reason that makes it impossible or commercially unreasonable in the sole opinion of EF to conduct the tour as originally contracted. If EF cancels the tour for any such reason, travelers will receive an EF future travel voucher for all monies paid, less the $95 non-refundable deposit and any additional non-refundable fees. Cancellation by EF for causes described in this section shall not be a violation of its obligations to any traveler."
Future Travel Voucher Value
Our standard Booking Conditions state:
“If EF cancels the tour for any such reason, travelers will receive an EF future travel voucher for all monies paid, less the $95 non-refundable deposit and any additional non-refundable fees.”
Our temporary enhancement to this policy:
If a group or travelers within a group are unable to travel on a modified tour date, they may elect to receive an EF future travel voucher, which will be issued in the amount of all monies paid, including non-refundable deposits and fees.
Future Travel Voucher Refunds
EF future travel vouchers may be redeemed for a refund of all monies paid less $500 for travelers originally scheduled to depart on or after May 15, 2020, or all monies paid less $565 for travelers originally scheduled to depart between February 24 and May 14, 2020. See the “Peace of Mind” section for more information.
