Official terms and conditions

1. HOW TO ENTER: No Purchase Necessary. To enter, contestants must fully complete the EF/Harvard Global Competence Assessment before July 30th, 2017. One entry for each person who completes the EF/Harvard Global Competence Assessment on or prior to July 30, 2017. The survey will be sent by email to students currently enrolled to travel with EF in 2017. Email recipients may share the survey link with others who are not enrolled on an EF tour and wish to participate so that they also can participate in the contest.

2. ELIGIBILTY: The contest is open to residents of the United States and Puerto Rico. Employees (and their immediate families and household members) of EF and its affiliates are not eligible.

3. GRAND PRIZE:  The grand prize consists of two round-trip international airfare tickets to either Paris, London or Rome. Contest winner must choose one of these three destinations. If contest winner is below 18 years of age, he or she must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. More information about the tickets is listed below: 

Ticket Information from EF Education

  • Tickets must be used for travel by September 30, 2018.
  • Sixty (60) days advance notice is required for all ticket bookings. However, we encourage as much advance notice as possible.
  • Bookings are dependent on EF contract availability.
  • Dates of travel are limited by blackout dates applied at EF’s sole discretion.
  • Full name of each traveler as it appears on their passport is required when booking is requested, along with travelers’ birthdate.
  • EF is not able to guarantee specific seating requests on the tickets.
  • EF is only able to book companion tickets. Tickets cannot be used separately.
  • Each ticket can have a value of up to $1,500. Any unused portion cannot be redeemed for cash. 

4. GRAND PRIZE DRAW: The winner will be selected in a random drawing on July 31st, 2017. Participants agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges, whose decisions on all aspects of this drawing are final. The winner will be notified by August 15th, 2017. The winner does not need to be present to win. EF Educational Tours will notify the winner by email. EF Educational Tours, its affiliates’ agents and others working for them or on their behalf, will have the right to photograph the winners and entry constitutes permission to use their names, pictures, likenesses and city and state of residence(s) in advertising for no additional compensation. Survey data collected, while anonymous, will be used as part of a publishable research project conducted by Harvard University and EF Education First. 

5. All entries must be received by July 30th, 2017 (Eastern midnight). 

6. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.

7. DECLARING THE WINNER: Prize must be claimed by August 15th, 2017. Failure to execute and return any requested document(s) within 14 days of receipt, or return of notification or prize as undeliverable may result in forfeiture of prize and an alternate potential winner being selected at the sole discretion of EF Educational Tours management.  Winners and all travelers must execute EF’s Release and Agreement, Booking Conditions, etc.  

8. EF Educational Tours makes no warranties with respect to the prize.

9. Void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. All taxes on prizes are solely the responsibility of the winners. To learn the name of the winner, contact EF Educational Tours after August 15th, 2017. EF Educational Tours are not responsible for any lost or misdirected entries.
